Guwahati, June 04 (HS). BJP has once again hoisted its flag in the Lok Sabha elections in Assam, the largest state of the Northeast. Out of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state, BJP alone has won 9 seats. Like last time, Congress has got only three seats. However, BJP's allies UPPL and AGP have also won one seat each.
According to the election results released by the Election Commission of India, BJP candidate Pradan Barua has won the Lakhimpur seat by getting a total of 663122 votes. Pradan Barua has won for the third consecutive time. Pradan Barua has defeated Congress candidate Uday Shankar Hazarika by a margin of 201257. Uday Shankar Hazarika has got a total of 461865 votes.
Apart from this, Communist Party of India candidate Dhiren Kachari got 19631 votes, TMC candidate Ghana Kanta Sutia got 14197 votes, Independent Bikram Ramsiyari got 10293 votes, Independent Gobin Biswakarma got 7526 votes, Independent Deba Nath Pant got 6163 votes, Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) candidate Pallab Pegu got 6137 votes, Voters Party International candidate Biren Bailuang got 5359 votes. A total of 16921 votes were cast on NOTA.
BJP candidate Kamakhya Prasad Tasa has won from Kaziranga seat by getting 897043 votes. Tasa has defeated Congress candidate Roslina Tirkey by a margin of 248947 votes. Tirkey has got a total of 648096 votes. Independent Dilwara Begum Choudhary got 11743 votes, Independent Binod Gogoi got 10679 votes, Voters Party International's Anima Deka Gupta got 8673 votes, Independent Tridiv Jyoti Bhuiyan got 8128 votes, Independent Abdul Haq got 6441 votes, Independent Jyotiska Ranjan Goswami got 4538 votes, Bharatiya Gana Parishad's Sailen CH Malakar got 3720 votes, Assam Jan Morcha's Salim Ahmed got 3266 votes, Republican Party of India (Athawale)'s Saleh Ahmed Majumdar got 3179 votes. Whereas 24431 votes were cast on NOTA.
BJP candidate from Guwahati Bijuli Kalita Medhi has won by getting 894887 votes. Medhi has defeated Congress's Meera Borthakur Goswami by a margin of 251090 votes. Meera Borthakur Goswami got a total of 643797 votes, Deepak KR Boro of Voters Party International got 8548 votes, Independent Colonel Gokul Chandra Singha got 7678 votes, Amitabh Sarma of Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal got 7527 votes, Independent Qazi Nekib Ahmed got 6761 votes, Samad Chowdhary of Bharatiya Gana Parishad got 5095 votes, Shejon Gyari of Bahujan Maha Party got 4847 votes. A total of 20249 votes were cast on NOTA.
BJP candidate Ranjit Dutta from Sonitpur has won by getting a total of 775788 votes. Ranjit Dutta has defeated Congress candidate Premlal Ganju by a margin of 361408 votes. Premlal Ganju has got a total of 414380 votes.
Rishiraj Kaundinya of Aam Aadmi Party got 33048 votes, Bodoland People's Front Raju Deuri got 19892 votes, Independent Pradeep Bhandari got 8205 votes, Kameshwar Swargiary of Voters Party International got 7382 votes, Rinku Roy of Gana Suraksha Party got 6823 votes, Alam Ali of Bahujan Maha Party got 4202 votes. There, a total of 18748 votes were cast on NOTA.
BJP candidate from Diphu, Amarsingh Tiso has won by getting a total of 334620 votes. Tiso has defeated independent candidate J.I. Kathar by a margin of 147603 votes. J.I. Kathar has got a total of 187017 votes. Joy Ram Engleng of Congress has got 124019 votes, John Bernard Sangma of Gana Suraksha Party has got 11279 votes, Jotson Bay of Autonomous State Demand Committee has got 9633 votes. At the same time, a total of 16259 votes were cast on NOTA.
BJP candidate and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal from Dibrugarh has won by getting a total of 693762 votes. Sonowal has defeated Assam Jatiya Parishad candidate Lurinjyoti Gogoi by a margin of 279321 votes. Lurinjyoti Gogoi has got a total of 414441 votes. Whereas, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Manoj Dhanowar has got a total of 137864 votes. At the same time, 2255 votes were cast on NOTA.
BJP candidate from Silchar and Assam government minister Parimal Shuklabaidya has won by getting 652405 votes. Shuklabaidya has defeated Congress candidate Suryakanta Sarkar by a margin of 264311 votes. Suryakanta Sarkar has got a total of 388094 votes.
All India Trinamool Congress's Radheshyam Biswas got 20493 votes, Independent Raju Das got 4597 votes, Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist)'s Prabhash Chandra Sarkar got 4534 votes, Independent Ananta Mohan Roy got 3143 votes, Bahujan Maha Party's Rajib Das got 1867 votes, Bengali Navnirman Sena's Barindra Kumar Das got 1593 votes. Total votes on NOTA
12700 votes have been cast.
BJP candidate Dilip Saikia has won from Darang-Udalguri Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 868387 votes. Dilip has defeated Congress candidate Madhab Rajbanshi by a margin of 329012. Madhab has got a total of 539375 votes. Durga Das Bodo of Bodoland People's Front has got 310574 votes. Apart from this, other candidates also tried their luck from this seat. A total of 23204 votes were cast on NOTA.
BJP candidate Kripanath Mallah has won from Karimganj seat by getting a total of 545093 votes. He has defeated Congress candidate Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Chowdhury by a margin of 18360 votes. Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Chowdhury got a total of 526733 votes. Sahabul Islam Chowdhury of All India United Democratic Front got 29205 votes. A large number of candidates tried their luck from this seat, but they did not succeed. A total of 2940 votes were cast on NOTA.
