Political parties have geared up to win the political battle of the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and this time the contest is going to be very interesting not only on the ground but also on the platform of digital and virtual world. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), taking a big and sure shot step just before the elections, has decided to create a trained army of thousands of ‘Cyber Warriors’ across the state. In today’s modern and digital era, when every common citizen’s smartphone has become his biggest weapon, setting the political narrative and promoting one’s policies on social media is considered to be the biggest key to victory. Understanding this reality, BJP is now working rapidly on a mega plan to connect technically proficient youth from booth level to provincial level and teach them the tricks of social media.
The changing nature of election campaigning in the digital era and the need for cyber warriors.
The entire landscape of Indian politics has changed rapidly in the last few years and along with traditional rallies, digital platforms like X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp have started directly influencing the election results. Responding immediately and with facts to the confusion, fake news and aggressive political attacks often spread against the government through social media by opposition parties has become the biggest demand of today’s time. Keeping this need in mind, BJP has decided that it will prepare a ‘Cyber Army’ by training its dedicated workers, which will be able to cut every digital narrative of the opposition parties in a very aggressive and factual manner. This strategy will not only strengthen the digital defense of the party, but will also play an important role in taking the government’s welfare schemes to every household.
Selection process and special training camp will be held at district and assembly level.
According to the plan of the party organization, under this digital campaign, technically active, youth and social media savvy workers will be selected from all 75 districts and every assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh. Special training workshops and bootcamps will be organized for these selected cyber warriors, where they will be taught technical skills like video editing, graphics designing, content creation and working on trending topics. These warriors will also be taught how to expose anti-party propaganda with decency and logic without any provocation. This trained force will be directly linked to the party’s IT cell and social media headquarters, so that a uniform digital narrative can be set simultaneously across the state on any important political issue.
Foolproof strategy to deal with opposition attacks and fake news
During the election season, many types of misleading videos and false news are often made viral on social media by the opponents to spread confusion among the public, which if not refuted in time, can harm the image of the party. These cyber warriors of BJP will be equipped with fact-checking tools and digital monitoring systems, which will keep a close watch on social media activities every moment. As soon as any attempt is made by the opposition to spread any misleading narrative or propaganda, these warriors will immediately give a befitting reply with official figures and proof of development work. With such a real-time response team in the field, the party will be safe from any kind of digital surprise during the elections and will maintain its lead in the virtual war zone.
To deliver development works and government schemes to the public through digital medium.
The main objective of this entire digital exercise is not only to counter the opposition, but also to make the historic development works, law and order reforms and public welfare schemes done by the double engine government in Uttar Pradesh reach the mobile phones of the general public through reels, shorts and creative posts. The party believes that today’s young generation and first-time voters are more influenced by information available on digital platforms rather than traditional speeches. This cyber warriors plan of BJP is enough to prove that the party is fully prepared on every front to ensure its victory in the upcoming assembly elections and does not want to leave any stone unturned to remain at the forefront technologically.
