Jammu, 30 November (HIST). Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Sat Sharma (CA) addressed a gathering of farmers in Salehar border village of Bishnah Assembly constituency as part of the program of BJP Kisan Morcha. Organized under the direction of Kisan Morcha President Sarabjit Singh Johal and coordination with General Secretary Rakesh Pant, the event focused on the welfare of farmers and the transformative impact of government policies.
Sat Sharma highlighted the improved security situation on the border since 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He explained how cross-border firing, which once caused insecurity, economic loss and damage to life and property, has reduced significantly. Giving credit to the strict stance of the Modi government, he said that today farmers are farming their fields fearlessly, the credit for which goes to the peace restored on the border. During the program, Sharma also heard the complaints of farmers especially regarding the ownership rights of custodian land allottees and assured his support in addressing these concerns with the authorities.
While Sarabjit Singh Johal talked about the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme in which emphasis was laid on providing financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to the farmers by the Modi government. While Rajinder Singh Chib (border district in-charge) urged the leaders to stay connected with the rural communities and cater to their needs. Bishnah MLA Dr. Rajeev Bhagat assured the farmers of his availability to assist them on any issue.
