Ranchi, 26 October (Hindustan Reporter). BJP Mahila Morcha held a strong demonstration on Saturday against the derogatory remarks made by Congress leader and minister Irfan Ansari on BJP leader Sita Soren. On this occasion, hundreds of women under the leadership of State Mahila Morcha President Aarti Singh and Ranchi Metropolitan President Payal Soni protested by gheraoing Irfan Ansari's residence.
During the demonstration, women workers of BJP termed Irfan Ansari's statement as an insult not only to Sita Soren but to the mothers and sisters of entire Jharkhand and demanded his resignation. BJP Mahila Morcha alleged that Ansari has hurt the dignity of not only a woman leader but of all the mothers and sisters of the state by calling Sita Soren a “rejected commodity” on Friday.
State Mahila Morcha President Aarti Singh said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren talks about respect, but the minister of his government uses such language for a respected woman leader, and not a single word comes out of Hemant Soren's mouth.
He said that insulting women is nothing new in Hemant Soren's government, but his silence on the shameless remarks made on his own family member Sita Soren is shameful. This shows that those who do not have the courage to protect the honor of the women of their family, how will they protect the interests of the women of the state?
Aarti Singh said that this incident has made it clear that the priority of the government is limited only to saving power and not to the respect and welfare of women. He said that the silence of Hemant government has demoralized the women of the entire state. But the women of Jharkhand will respond to every insult in this election and oust the coalition government from power.
During the demonstration, the women raised slogans against Irfan Ansari and demanded his immediate dismissal. Ranchi District Mahanagar Mahila Morcha President Payal Soni said, we demand a clear stand from the Congress. Congress should cancel the tickets of people like Irfan Ansari and the party should apologize.
Mahila Morcha workers protested amid the rain. During this, State General Secretary Renu Tirkey, Treasurer Lovely Gupta, Minister Suchita Singh, Minister Neelam Chaudhary, State Working Committee member Seema Sharma and other workers were present.
