Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024: The deadline for filing nomination papers for Maharashtra Assembly elections ended on Tuesday. The election is contested between the BJP-led Mahayuti and the Congress-led alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi. In the assembly elections which started with seat sharing, BJP is looking stronger than Congress. BJP is looking very strong in the first fight during seat sharing. Elections are contested on 150 seats. Of Congress's share, only 100 seats have gone to Mahayuti.
Recently, during the seat sharing talks, it has come to light that Rahul Gandhi has expressed his displeasure with the party leaders in Maharashtra and the central leaders involved in this discussion. He is not happy with this deal. On this he scolded everyone. However, the party has denied this.
Dissatisfaction has started emerging in Vidarbha regarding seat distribution. According to a report, a Congress leader said, 'We have become weak in seat distribution here due to two reasons. The first is internal discontent among the leaders of our region. The second reason was that the two regional allies of our group have made a more difficult agreement with our high command than the Grand Alliance.
He said, 'Both NCP (SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT) have direct access to the Congress high command. Sharad Pawar always drives a hard bargain. Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut can call Rahul Gandhi anytime. Local officials have no role in the situation of agitation. Neither Ajit Pawar nor Eknath Shinde can directly call PM Modi or Amit Shah in the Grand Alliance. Maharashtra supported BJP during this deal.
