BJP itself is far from the majority, so will Modi have the courage to move forward on these 4 big issues?

This time, the NDA under the leadership of PM Modi entered the election fray with the slogan of 400. However, the seats were not as expected. They stayed away from 400, objections were raised even on 300. The NDA government will be formed but the BJP itself is far from the majority. That means now the BJP will have to depend on its allies. The biggest question is whether the Modi government in its third term will be able to muster the courage to raise those big issues among the public which its leaders keep raising among the public. Let us know about 4 such major issues on which the Modi government may hesitate to act this time. Can the Modi government move forward on these issues?

Uniform Civil Code
All the big leaders of BJP including PM Modi are constantly talking about one country one law. They called the religion based personal law divisive and dangerous for the country. They say that there should be a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the whole country. Which everyone should follow. The Muslim community is widely opposing this demand of BJP. They allege that this is an attempt to reduce their religious freedom.

In view of the controversy, the BJP implemented the UCC first in Uttarakhand as a trial instead of implementing it in the whole country. There was no significant opposition to this. In this, the BJP leader believed that if the BJP succeeded in forming the government for the third time with a bumper majority, then the UCC would be implemented in the whole country. But the election results did not come as expected and now the government has to depend on the help of allies, so the BJP will take any step on this issue.

one country one election
One country one election has been the second main issue of BJP. BJP says that some election or the other is going on continuously in the country. Due to which the code of conduct remains in force for a long time. In this way development work is hampered and crores of rupees are wasted. After coming to power, PM Modi raised this issue loudly and at the end of the second term of his government, a high level committee was formed under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind. This committee has already prepared its report and submitted it to the Modi government before the Lok Sabha elections. It was believed that after winning for the third time, the Modi government could move forward in this direction.

However, opposition forces oppose this demand of the Modi government. They say that this attempt is a conspiracy to crush democracy in the country. By doing this, the Modi government wants to end the parliamentary system and implement the presidential system like America. It remains to be seen whether the Modi government will be able to move forward on this issue by relying on others.

Population control law
Increasing population has become a big problem for the country. In terms of population, India has now surpassed China to become the number one country in the world. Due to this, all the resources like water, roads, land, grains are getting depleted. BJP has been raising this issue for years. After coming to power, PM Modi is also raising this issue loudly and is trying to build a consensus in the country on this issue. He also raised this issue during his address at the Red Fort.

BJP leaders have been advocating a population control law to curb this problem. It was believed that if BJP had got a bumper victory in this election, then the Modi government would definitely move forward on this issue. But now before moving forward on any issue, the consent of the allies will have to be taken. It is believed that there may be hesitation in taking any big step on this issue.

Return of POK
This has been the main issue of BJP since the beginning. After Modi became the PM, when the government resolved major issues like Article 370, Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and CAA one after the other, people's expectations increased. People hoped that if PM Modi returns to power with a huge majority, this time he can move forward on the issue of taking back POK from Pakistan. Many leaders including Amit Shah, Jaishankar, Rajnath Singh also hinted at this in their rallies. However, the Modi government remained silent on this.

This silence of the government has created a state of confusion. To get back POK, India will have to fight a war with Pakistan and if this is done, the Chinese army will definitely come to their aid. Due to which India has to fight a war on two fronts. That is why the Modi government is silent. But if the international situation turns in India's favor, then perhaps the government can make a plan for it. But now that the BJP does not have a majority, moving forward on the return of POK will depend on the consent of the alliance partners.
