New Delhi, 16 February (HS). Countering the allegations made by Congress in the matter of freezing of bank accounts, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad has denied these allegations.
Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Friday that the allegation made by the Congress Party against the BJP that his account has been frozen under pressure from the BJP is completely baseless. Prasad strongly condemned Congress's allegation and said that the Congress party makes good arrangements for money for itself, also indulges in corruption but does not do accounting.
Speaking to the media here, he termed the action taken against Congress as a routine procedure of the Income Tax Department and said that BJP had nothing to do with it, it was a routine Income Tax procedure. Under this process, a tax of Rs 105 crore was demanded, Congress appealed against it, in which 20 percent amount has to be deposited but Congress deposited only Rs 78 lakh.
