Maharashtra Assembly Election Result 2024: BJP has got the maximum 26.77 percent votes in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. He contested elections on 149 seats and won 132 seats. A total of 17,293,650 votes were received. BJP’s winning 132 seats in the assembly elections is a hat-trick of crossing the 100 seats mark. The party won 122 seats in the 2014 assembly elections and 105 seats in the 2019 elections.
Contesting 101 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly, Congress won only 16 seats and stood second with 12.42 vote percentage. The party got 8,020,921 votes. Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena contested 81 seats, of which it won 57 and secured 12.38 percent votes.
Sharad Pawar’s party got more votes than Ajit’s
Notably, the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (Sharad Chandra Pawar), which won fewer seats, got more votes than Ajit Pawar’s NCP. NCP contested 86 seats but managed to win only 10 seats with 11.28 percent votes.
Uddhav Ajit’s party got more votes but less seats.
Ajit Pawar-led NCP won 41 out of 59 seats. He got 9.01 percent votes. Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena won 20 seats and the party got 9.96 percent votes. According to Election Commission officials, 66.05 percent voting was recorded in the state assembly elections held on November 20, which was 61.1 percent in 2019.
Independents stood second in 19 constituencies in Maharashtra
The main contest in the Maharashtra Assembly elections was between the ruling Mahayuti and the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi, but independent candidates also contested the elections strongly. Independent candidates showed their strength by finishing second in 19 assembly constituencies.
