Chandauli, 03 March (Hindustan Reporter). Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed confidence in Union Minister Dr. Mahendranath Pandey for the third consecutive time on Chandauli parliamentary seat. Along with the supporters of the Union Minister, local leaders and workers of BJP have also expressed happiness over the decision of the party leadership.
Before this, Dr. Mahendranath Pandey had won the 2014, 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Chandauli parliamentary seat. The party organization has also geared up to give Dr. Pandey a hat-trick of victories. Dr Pandey will face SP alliance candidate Virendra Singh in the Lok Sabha elections.
Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections for the second consecutive time by defeating SP-BSP alliance candidate Dr. Sanjay Chauhan. Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey got 5 lakh 10 thousand 733 votes in the elections. He defeated Sanjay Singh Chauhan of SP-BSP alliance by a margin of 13 thousand 959 votes.
Dr. Mahendranath Pandey, originally a resident of Pakkhanpur village of Ghazipur district, is among the leaders close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dr. Pandey has done his PhD in Hindi from Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Dr. Pandey has been in politics since his student days. Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey remained in jail for about 5 months during the Emergency. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteer Pandey was also associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
It is noteworthy that BJP's Anand Ratna Maurya has won from Chandauli parliamentary seat three times in a row. Congress candidates have won from Chandauli five times. At the same time, BJP has also won five times till 2019. United Socialist Party, SP, BSP and Janata Dal have won this seat once.

Chandauli parliamentary seat includes the assembly constituencies of Mughalsarai, Sakaldiha, Syedaraja, Ajgara, Shivpur. Ramesh Jaiswal is BJP MLA from Mughalsarai Assembly, Prabhunarayan Singh Yadav is Samajwadi Party MLA from Sakaldiha. Similarly, Sushil Singh of BJP from Syedraja, Tribhuvan Ram of Ajgara Varanasi, Anil Rajbhar of BJP, Anil Rajbhar from Shivpur Varanasi are MLAs and cabinet ministers in the Yogi government.
