BJP exposes Delhi Jal Board scam, demands CBI investigation

New Delhi, April 8 (Hindustan Reporter) The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday exposed the scam in Delhi Jal Board and demanded a CBI investigation.

In a press conference held here, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that BJP has been saying for a long time that Delhi Jal Board scam is bigger than liquor scam and Aam Aadmi Party leaders have always tried to avoid it. He said that the Finance Department of Delhi Government has told the Supreme Court that in the last 9 years, Rs 28,400 crores are unaccounted for.

Virendra Sachdeva said that the game of scams that started in the Jal Board since 2013 has reached such a stage today that the Jal Board is now drowned in debts of Rs 73,000 crore and to fulfill it, a plan has also been prepared to cheat the people of Delhi. Has gone. He said that on one hand, Delhi Water Minister Atishi says that she is not being given money, while on the other hand, the accounts of the Jal Board have not been audited since 2016-17. Minister Atishi should have understood that giving money to any government department for an unlimited period without audit is illegal and due to this today a scam like situation has arisen in the Jal Board.

Delhi BJP President said that the information received in the letter written by Atishi on March 9 has revealed many things. According to the information received from the letter, no revenue is generated from 59 percent water and there is no transparency on the use of additional 15 percent water. Today, 74 percent of the water in Delhi Jal Board is not being accounted for. That means the entire water board is running on only 26 percent water. Not only this, the accounts for 2021-22 are missing. Delhi Jal Board has become the main center of corruption of Kejriwal.

He said that the reality of water bill is that in residential areas, 30 kilo liter water is priced at Rs 790, service charge is Rs 219 and then sewer charge is Rs 474 and both together amount to Rs 1484. If we talk about water per liter then it is Rs 49 per kilo litre. That means the Kejriwal government, which talks about providing free water, is giving water at Rs 49 per kilo litre. Along with this, one has to pay around Rs 80 for one kilo liter of water in commercial.
