Elections will be held in two phases in Jharkhand

The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday announced that elections will be held in Jharkhand in two phases on November 13 and November 20, while the counting of votes will take place on November 23. BJP is going to contest the elections in alliance with Janata Dal (United) and All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) party. It may also consider forming a pre-poll alliance with Union Minister Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).

Seat sharing was also discussed

Information regarding seat sharing formula between NDA for Jharkhand assembly elections has also come to light. According to the information, out of 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand, BJP can field its candidates on 67 seats. Also, the parties included in the Grand Alliance are likely to get 14 seats.

Coalition government formed in 2019

In the 2019 assembly elections, JMM won 30 out of 81 seats, Congress won 16 and RJD won one seat. All three parties formed a coalition government with majority. In 2014, BJP had won 37 seats. But in 2019 it came down to 25 seats. AJSU party contested the elections alone and could win only two seats.
