New Delhi, 07 August (HS). The Bharatiya Janata Party targeted Congress leader Salman Khurshid's statement that 'what is happening in Bangladesh can happen here too' and called it unfortunate. BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh said that this is a statement mocking Indian democracy. Indira Gandhi had imposed emergency in the country in 1975. Even today, the feeling of emergency is roaming inside Congress leaders. He said that the thought of what Congress people are happy about is destroying temples in Bangladesh, killing Hindus, selectively killing opposition leaders, it is unfortunate.

BJP MP Sambit Patra said that on behalf of Congress, he warned of protests and arson. It can flare up in India, what happened in Bangladesh can happen in India too. Many other leaders including Shashi Tharoor were present in this program and in a way they supported that statement. Whenever Rahul Gandhi used to go abroad, he used to meet many people secretly. He spoke against India after going there, now it is becoming clear what his intention was.

It is noteworthy that Congress leader Salman Khurshid said on Tuesday that whatever is happening in Bangladesh can happen in India as well. He was speaking at the launch of former Union Minister Mujibur Rahman's book Shikwa-e-Hind: The Political Future of Indian Muslims.
