BJP broke the tradition of Muria Darbar by limiting it to mere ritual performance: Rekhchand Jain.

Jagdalpur, 16 October (HS). Former MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Rekhchand Jain said that Muria Darbar was an effective and remarkable system of the princely state. In this, the example set by the government and administration after listening to the complaints and grievances of the local villagers was applicable in the entire state, but the BJP's Chhattisgarh government has limited this important practice to just a ritual, which has affected lakhs of people of Bastar. This has hurt the sentiments of villagers and devotees who believe in Bastar Dussehra festival. Jain has said that there has been a tradition of inviting all the public representatives of Bastar to Muria Darbar. BJP has also refuted this due to petty politics.

He said that Manjhi-Mukhiya, Chalki etc. remained sitting in the Muria Darbar organized here on Tuesday to express their views, but no effort was made to understand the problems of the people. Due to this, the problems of their village, home and area will remain the same. Former MLA Rekhchand Jain has said that Muria Darbar is the platform to know the problems faced by the tribals. But the Chief Minister came and gave his speech and left. No Congress MLA or MP from Bastar was called. This is not only an insult to the mandate but also reflects the BJP's mentality of neglecting the villagers. According to the former MLA, Bastar Dussehra festival has been a symbol of coordination of all the societies and their representatives. From the princely period till today, all the societies have participated in it, but due to discrimination, BJP in its arrogance has fragmented it too. The neglect of the elected public representatives of Congress is proof of this. Rekhchand Jain has said that the priest of Danteshwari temple is getting only three thousand rupees per month. Government- Administration should pay attention to this and increase it appropriately and according to human values. Due to lack of meaningful initiative and announcement in this direction, there is disappointment among the priest families, the consequences of which will have to be borne by BJP.
