Ravneet Bittu on Rahul Gandhi: Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa has strongly condemned the despicable and unconstitutional remarks of Ravneet Singh Bittu in which he called Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi a 'terrorist' Such a statement not only reflects a lack of respect for a fellow Member of Parliament but also exposes a dangerous ignorance of the basic principles of the Indian Constitution.
It is extremely worrying that a minister, who is funded by taxpayers, fails to understand the constitutional values he has sworn to uphold. His outrageous comments reflect not only a profound lack of education and understanding of parliamentary principles, but also an appalling disregard for responsible public conduct.
Bittu appears to have completely lost his sense of logic, and perhaps it would be wise for him to seek professional psychological help now. His inability to win public confidence has long been evident, yet he continues to draw a ministerial salary. Perhaps that money could be better used to treat some deep mental suffering. Such baseless allegations are not just lapses in judgement, they are a clear manifestation of the disturbing disconnect between his speech and reasoning.
Bajwa urged the Government of India to take cognizance of this gross violation of parliamentary ethics and ensure that those in power respect the Constitution and the dignity of the office. Ravneet Singh Bittu's irresponsible comments are an affront to democracy and cannot be excused as a mere lapse in judgement.
He urged Prime Minister Modi to take decisive action to ensure that such abuses are not allowed to destroy the sanctity of our democratic institutions.
