Haridwar, 15 November (HS). Tribal Pride Day celebration was organized in development block Bahadarabad to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, famous as Dharti Abba.
District Magistrate Karmendra Singh welcomed Rajya Sabha member Dr. Kalpana Saini by giving him a bouquet. District Magistrate Karmendra Singh, while throwing light on the biography of Dharti Abba Lord Birsa, said that today the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda is being celebrated in the entire country as Tribal Pride Day. Birsa Munda had done a great job in his young age by sacrificing his life for our country, our culture, our traditions, our values. He said that Tribal Pride Day is celebrated every year with the aim of preserving the cultural heritage of the tribal community, promoting national pride, bravery and Indian values. This day of honoring tribal pride is an opportunity to pay tribute to all the freedom fighters of the country and also to honor the contribution of the tribal society.
The District Magistrate said that a total of five tribals reside in the state. One of them, Buxa tribe, lives in our district Haridwar. There are nine settlements in four gram sabhas in Haridwar district, in which a total of 874 families live. According to Sarv, 3952 people live in that village.
