The Australian Cricket Board has expressed interest in hosting a bilateral series between India and Pakistan and the series will be based on the initiative of BCCI and PCB. India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since 2012–13 and the two teams have faced each other only in global ICC events such as the World Cup and Champions Trophy. In November this year, both the Asian countries will be in Australia at the same time. Cricket Australia has scheduled three ODIs and three T20 matches against Pakistan from November 22, shortly before they reach India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Cricket Australia's director of cricket Peter Roach said the national cricket board would love to be able to host a series between India and Pakistan and would continue to express his enthusiasm for the boards of both countries. Every country in the world would love to see India and Pakistan play bilateral series in their country and we are one of these countries. There will be no change in the schedule of both the teams against the Australian team. Australia could be an ideal neutral country for a future bilateral series between India and Pakistan. It is noteworthy that the tickets for the T20 World Cup match to be played between the two teams at MCG in 2022 were sold out within five minutes, in which more than 90 thousand supporters were present. The match played in Adelaide in 2015 was also very exciting.
