Bihar's Bodhgaya will be connected to Buddhist circuit: Satpal Maharaj

Uttarakhand Government Tourism, Endowment and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj, who is on a two-day visit to Bihar, said here today that efforts will be made to connect Bodhgaya (where Lord Buddha attained divine enlightenment) with the Buddhist circuit and Patna Sahib Gurdwara with Paonta Sahib. .

Addressing the program organized on the occasion of the inauguration of the two-day 'Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF)' hosted by the Bihar Government, Maharaj said that tourism plays an important role in the economy of the country and the state. It is only through tourism that we get to know the culture and history of a new place. The sages and sages of our country have also given primary importance to tourism. Ancient gurus, Brahmins, sages and ascetics have said that without tourism, humans would remain lovers of darkness. Western scholar Augustine has said that without world philosophy, knowledge is incomplete.

Maharaj said that by connecting Punpun and Gaya, the tributaries of Ganga in Bihar, where Pind Daan is important, with Brahmakapal located in Badrinath Dham, Baidyanath Dham located in Deoghar, Jharkhand, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of the country, will also be connected with Kedarnath in Uttarakhand. Will be added so that devotees can get information about their mythological and religious importance. He said that the state government is developing Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham as well as Jageshwar Dham, Mahasu, Timmarsain etc. under the well-planned master plan. So far this year, about 42.00 lakh devotees have come on Chardham Yatra.

Maharaj said that our government is working towards preventing the problem of migration of local residents by promoting tourism in marginal villages and remote destinations under the Vibrant Village Scheme of the Central Government to promote winter tourism in the state. A new initiative has been started by Uttarakhand Tourism to promote winter tourism, in which travelers and devotees are being given darshan of Adi Kailash and Om Parvat, the abode of Lord Shiva, through heli. Apart from this, work is being done to promote astro tourism in the state.

Maharaj said that Uttarakhand has abundance of astro tourism destinations. Uttarakhand with its vast forest area, nature based tourism and home-stays is uniquely positioned to become the choice of astro tourist. Uttarakhand Tourism has started organizing Nakshatra Sabha (Astro Tourism) at various places in the state, which is India's first annual campaign. In view of the immense success of the first two Nakshatra Sabha (Astro Tourism) organized by Uttarakhand Tourism, now the third Nakshatra Sabha (Astro Tourism) will be organized in Benital, Chamoli from 08 to 10 November.
