East Champaran, 22 July (HS). Biharis are cursed to bear the pain of migration since the indentured period. It is a different matter that the Biharis who arrived as slave labourers became the heads of the governments of those nations where they had gone as slaves, due to their sharp intellect and hard work. Today the situation is the opposite. Bihar has become only a labour producing state. They are ridiculed in their own country and are being exploited fiercely. Social worker Amar said these things while addressing a seminar organized in Sulsabad, Mehsi of the district under the aegis of Jan Suraj Vichar Manch.

He said that Bihar will have to overcome this worrying situation. The direction in which Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraj, is going to work is a good initiative for the people of Bihar. Addressing the program, Hamid Raja said that there is immense potential in Bihar, which the government does not pay attention to. Krishna Narayan Thakur said that at the time of independence in Bihar, small industries used to work as cottage industries on the call of Gandhiji, today it has completely ended from Bihar. The end of industries is unfortunate for Bihar. Mohammad Gyaas said that there is a lot of potential for agriculture-based industries in Bihar, on which no effort has been made at the government level.

Prashant Kishor is visiting villages in Bihar and will identify the possibilities of industries and work towards giving them a concrete shape. Sanjay Singh said that if Bihar promotes agriculture based industries, the migration of Biharis from across the country will stop. The programme was also addressed by Ejaz Ahmed, Jagmohan Mishra, Vinod Thakur, Dr. Bablu Kumar and others.
