Bihar junior engineer involved in NEET paper leak, Supreme Court demands cancellation of exam

NEET UG 2024 : 20 more students have filed a petition in the Supreme Court to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 exam. They have demanded an investigation by the CBI or any other independent agency under the supervision of the Supreme Court into the irregularities in the examination held on May 5. On the other hand, incidents of NEET paper leak are coming to light in Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana.

Over 20 students have moved the Supreme Court seeking direction to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and others to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 exam and conduct a fresh exam. The petition states that in view of the widespread malpractices and scams in NEET, only conducting a re-examination will help short-listed deserving students get admission in medical institutions.

Meanwhile, a big revelation has happened in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Sikandar Kumar Yadavendu, a 56-year-old junior engineer of the state government, has confessed his role during interrogation by the Bihar Police investigating the paper leak scam. Police sources said that Sikandar had said at the time of his arrest that the NEET paper had been leaked. They are getting more information, which they will investigate.

According to the police, Sikandar said that Amit and Nitish got the paper on May 4, 2024 and they gathered the candidates in a safe house in Patna. Here the candidates were asked to answer all the questions and then left directly for the examination center. He has made many revelations in front of the Bihar Economic Offenses Unit. On the other hand, half burnt papers of NEET have also been found from Nalanda, in which about 74 questions have been found. Bihar Police has asked NTA to send the original question paper to check the authenticity of this question paper, but they have not received the paper yet.
