Saharsa, 31 August (HS). Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is determined to create a harmonious society. Due to which he is working for the upliftment of people of every caste, religion and community. Many schemes are being run for the welfare of poor, backward and deprived people. These schemes are being run only in Bihar and not in other states. Bihar Government's Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar said this during a press conference held in the assembly hall on Saturday.
He said that the state government is running many schemes for the poor in the entire state. Under which a review meeting was organized in the district for ambitious schemes like MNREGA, Lohia Swachh Yojana, Awas Yojana, Nal Jal Yojana and Saat Nischay. In which how much success was achieved in achieving the target set in the last meeting. In this regard, the concerned officials were given directions. Before the review meeting, Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar said that three schemes are being operated under the Awas Yojana which are not being operated in any other state of the country. Regarding these schemes, he told that if the house built under the Awas Yojana before 1 January 1996 and that house is not fit for living and the beneficiary is alive and he has not got benefit under any other scheme, then such beneficiary is being given a help of one lakh 20 thousand rupees for house renovation. Secondly, if the housing is approved before 1 April 2010 and the housing is half-finished, then the Bihar government is providing assistance of Rs. 50,000 from its treasury to such beneficiary to complete the construction of the house.
Regarding the third scheme, he informed that such eligible families who are nominated under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin and do not have land to build a house, will be given one lakh rupees for purchasing land under the Mukhya Mantri Bas Purchase Sthal Yojana. Regarding the target of only 25 given to the district under the scheme of one lakh 20 thousand assistance amount given to the beneficiary of Awas Yojana before the year 1996 for renovation, the minister said that the target in the whole of Bihar is only 21 thousand. On this occasion, BJP District President Diwakar Singh, JDU District President Chandradev Mukhiya, LJP (R) District President Mahendra Sharma, Rashtriya Lok Morcha Jitendra Kumar Jishu, JDU spokesperson Dr. Lutfallah were present.
