The system of issuing dummy admit cards for the students appearing in the Matriculation Annual Examination 2027 by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is a mandatory process. Its main purpose is to verify the details entered in the examination form and registration record. Many times, due to clerical error while filling the examination form at cyber café or school level, serious mistakes are made in the student’s name, spelling of mother or father’s name, date of birth (DOB), gender, caste category or photo and signature.
If these mistakes are not rectified during the dummy admit card stage, the same mistakes get recorded in the main admit card, marksheet and original certificate of the student. Later, one has to face legal hurdles due to wrong name or date of birth mentioned in the certificates while getting admission in higher classes, verification for government jobs and making important documents like passport. Therefore, as soon as the dummy admit card is received, it is very important for every candidate to match each and every entry in it closely.
Most of the mistakes seen in the dummy admit card are in the spelling of the names of the students and their parents. As per Bihar Board guidelines, only spelling mistakes in the name are allowed to be corrected; Substituting the full name of a student with that of another student (full substitution) is not permitted at all.
If any letter is wrong in your name, mother’s name or father’s name, then the method to make correction is as follows:
-
Take Print of Dummy Admit Card: Take out two clear photocopies of your dummy admit card from the official portal of the board.
-
Mark the mistake: Where the wrong name is printed, underline that part with a pen or cut it out lightly and write the correct name in English capital letters in clear letters just in front of it.
-
Attach supporting documents: Attach a copy of your 9th class Registration Slip, School Admission Register (SR) or self-attested photocopy of previously issued valid identity card as proof of correction.
-
Write an application: Write a formal application to your school Headmaster/Principal, quoting the registration number and roll code, requesting the correct spelling of the name.
The date of birth recorded in the matriculation certificate is considered the official age proof for life. If your date of birth is wrongly mentioned on the dummy admit card, then the Board has very strict rules to correct it as arbitrary change in the date of birth is not acceptable.
-
Required proof: For amendment in the date of birth, a certified copy of the school’s admission register (scholar register), TC (Transfer Certificate) of class 8 or birth certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation/Gram Panchayat has to be attached compulsorily.
-
Process: The student has to submit a photocopy of the birth certificate along with the application to the school. The school head will match that date with the school records (SR Book). If any difference is found in the school record and dummy card, the Principal will immediately enter the amendment in the date of birth on the Board portal at his level.
The photo on the dummy admit card of many candidates is completely black, extremely blurred or the photo of some other student is printed. Similarly, leaving blank space in place of signature or displaying someone else’s signature is a common technical problem. Biometric and photo matching is done at the time of entry at the examination center, hence if the photo is wrong, you may be prevented from entering the center.
The order of making corrections in photo and signature is as follows:
-
Latest passport size photo: Students should keep two recent passport size color photographs (with white or light background) ready.
-
Signature Sample: Signature clearly with black or blue ball pen on a plain white paper.
-
Verification by School Head: Paste the new photograph on the application form and copy of the dummy card. The school head will attest the photo by putting his seal and signature on it.
-
Re-upload on online portal: The computer operator or head of the school will go to the student’s profile through their official portal login and upload a new scanned file (in prescribed JPG/PNG size) in place of the old invalid photo and signature.
Under the clear rules of Bihar Board, the dummy admit card can only be downloaded and viewed by the students themselves, but The digital right to make corrections on the portal is reserved only with the head of the concerned school..
-
Revision Process: Based on the revised application physically submitted by the student, on the Secondary Examination Portal of the School Head Board (secondary.biharboardonline.com) with the help of your official user ID and password.
-
The student’s unique registration number is entered in the ‘Correction Panel’ of the portal.
-
After this, the student’s digital form opens on the screen, where desired changes in name, date of birth, caste, gender or photo are made and ‘Save & Submit’.
-
Acknowledgment Receipt: At the time of submitting the application, the student must obtain a receipt bearing the seal and signature of the school on a duplicate copy of his/her application, so that you have solid evidence in case of any technical errors in the future.
On the basis of revised data sent by the school after the expiry of the correction window prescribed by the Board. 2nd Dummy Admit Card Is issued.
It is the responsibility of the students to visit the portal again to download their second dummy admit card and ensure that the amendments given by them (name, date of birth or photo) are completely updated in the system. If there is any error in the second dummy card also, it can be rectified by immediately meeting the headmaster during the last opportunity given by the board (3rd Dummy Card). No changes of any kind are possible once the main admit card is issued after the stipulated time limit has passed.
