Masoud Pajeshkian's supporters are happy

Masoud Pazeshkian is a heart surgeon by profession and a long-time MP. There is an atmosphere of happiness among his supporters due to the big change in the power of the country. During the counting of votes, his supporters came out on the streets to celebrate. For example, Iran's famous former nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, who is considered close to the Supreme Leader, has faced defeat in this election.

Masoud Pajeshkian promised during his election campaign that he would not make any radical changes to the country's Shia theocracy. He considers Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to be the final arbiter in all matters of the country. However, even his modest goals may face challenges from the supreme administration.
