According to NBC News, this program called Parole in Place will benefit about 500,000 immigrants living illegally in the United States. Which will protect them from deportation. The program aims to facilitate the process of obtaining green cards and US citizenship for undocumented immigrants. According to NBC News, undocumented spouses will also be allowed to obtain work permits depending on various circumstances.
However, it includes some conditions. That is, citizenship will be granted to immigrants who have lived in the United States for at least 10 years after marrying a US citizen. It will also allow immigrant children whose parents are married to US citizens to obtain a green card or citizenship.
Currently, if someone stays in the US without documents for a year or more despite being married to an American citizen, he has to undergo legal proceedings. Such a person is also banned from entering the US for 10 years. This benefit will be available only to those immigrants who have completed 10 years by June 17.

These new rules will not have any effect on those who have gone to the US on a visa.
