Changes in EPFO rules: The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has announced new rules regarding the PF accounts of employees. This change is for all PF account holders. If you are also a PF account holder, then these rules are for you. EPFO has introduced some new rules to correct and update your details in the PF account. Let us know which rule has been implemented by EPFO?
EPFO has issued new standard operating procedure (SOP) guidelines for correcting personal information like name, date of birth. Under which SOP version 3.0 has been approved for updating the profile of members. Now after this new rule, documents will have to be provided for updating or correcting the UAN profile. Along with this, you can also apply by giving a declaration.
EPFO said in its guidelines that it is often seen that there are many types of errors which people face a lot of trouble in correcting. This problem occurs due to the data not being updated. In such a situation, these guidelines have been issued.
There will be changes in two categories
According to the new guidelines, under the new instructions, EPFO has divided the changes in the profile into major and minor categories. For minor changes, at least two necessary documents have to be submitted along with the joint declaration request. At the same time, at least three documents have to be submitted for major amendments. In this, regional offices were asked to be more careful in updating the profiles of the members. So that no irregularities or fraud can happen.
At the same time, for major changes, at least three necessary documents will have to be submitted. It is important to note that in case of Aadhaar-related changes, the Aadhaar card or e-Aadhaar card linked to an active mobile number will suffice as a supporting document.
How many documents for which change?
– Minor changes require at least two documents from the list of documents.
– Major changes require a minimum of three documents in the list of documents.
Let us tell you that EPF members have the option to submit a joint declaration for correction through the member e-service portal. It is important to note that only the data related to the EPF account managed by the current employer can be amended. The employer is not entitled to make any changes in the EPF accounts of previous or other organizations. EPFO said that it will be the responsibility of the member to submit the application with his registered portal login.
