Inside sources gave information about Siddiqui

Police suspect that the attackers were instructed to target both Zeeshan and his father. But on the day of the incident, Zeeshan left the office a few minutes before his father's arrival. Police suspect that some insiders had given information to the attackers about Siddiqui, due to which they reached Kherwadi Junction in time. The attackers would come to Bandra every day, mostly using auto rickshaws, to check locations linked to Baba Siddiqui and his son Zeeshan.

Based on some information received from the accused, the police suspect that they were assigned the responsibility of killing both Baba Siddiqui and Zeeshan. On the day of the incident, both Baba Siddiqui and his son were at the same place and the accused somehow got information about it. Sources also say that some insiders were giving information about Baba Siddiqui and Zeeshan.

How did the murder happen?

Baba Siddiqui had gone to his son Zeeshan's office that day, which was not a part of his regular routine. After attending the Garba event, he went to his son's office and inquired about Zeeshan, but was told that Zeeshan had left for work a few minutes earlier. As Baba Siddiqui was moving towards his car, the attackers used a substance like tear gas. After this, the absconding accused Shivkumar Gautam fired six bullets from a 9 mm pistol and ran away. According to sources, the other two accused did not fire the bullet, but they had a pistol and 28 live cartridges.
