Got the necessary confidence in the second match after the first match was bad.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, who made his mark in the early stages of his cricket career, said that when a player returns to the field after injury, he needs mental support and confidence the most. His performance in the first T20 match of this series being played against Afghanistan was not very special, due to which he was a little disappointed, but he learned from his shortcomings and made a brilliant comeback in the second match, taking 3 important wickets for just 24 runs. For his excellent performance, he was also awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ award. Nitish has given full credit for this success to the management of the Indian team, who maintained full faith in him even in difficult times and gave him complete freedom to focus freely on his game.
Mentioned about the days spent in the Center of Excellence (COI) and mental fatigue.
In a special video interview shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Nitish Kumar Reddy recalled his rehabilitation days spent at the Center of Excellence (COI) in Bengaluru. He said that as difficult as it is to recover from an injury physically, it is more challenging to remain mentally strong. Due to continuous training and living amidst modern facilities, players may sometimes have to face mental fatigue. To deal with this mental fatigue, Nitish resorted to talking to his friends daily and whenever he got time, going to his home for a day or two, which helped him a lot in refreshing himself. He believes that for a professional player, it is equally important to take care of mental health along with physical fitness.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, who plays as a fast bowling all-rounder, knows very well that he has the dual workload of both bowling and batting, due to which the workload on his body is very high. He admitted that dealing with injuries at this stage of his career can be extremely frustrating and when a player gets injured even after working hard, it feels very bad inside. However, he also clarified that in such bad times, it is your thinking that takes you forward. It is very important for the player to understand that he should never let negativity and negative people dominate him, because positive thinking and continuous efforts in the right direction are the real keys to success.
