Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PM Ujjwala Yojana) requires biometric identification linked to Aadhaar card to get a new gas connection. Along with this, it is now mandatory to link LPG connection with Aadhaar card (LPG-Aadhaar linking) to get LPG subsidy. But there is no time limit for LPG customers to do Aadhaar authentication (e-KYC). Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave this information.
In fact, the Leader of Opposition in the Kerala Assembly VD Satish had written a letter complaining that women and the elderly are facing problems due to this process, to which Hardeep Singh Puri said why e-KYC is necessary and how it works.
LPG-Aadhaar authentication being done to catch fake customers
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has given important information for LPG subsidy consumers. Hardeep Singh Puri has said that LPG Aadhaar authentication is actually done to catch fake customers.
You can do your LPG e-KYC in three ways can do
- With the help of your oil company's mobile app.
- By visiting the gas distributor's office.
- By the gas cylinder delivery person at the time of delivery of the LPG cylinder.
The gas delivery person will take your Aadhaar card details using the app and then send you an OTP. By entering this OTP, you can complete the process.
Aadhaar authentication of more than 55 percent of PMUY beneficiaries so far
Recently, Aadhaar verification of more than 35 lakh PMUY beneficiaries has been done successfully in Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra camps. So far, Aadhaar authentication of more than 55 percent of PMUY beneficiaries has been done. However, subsidy of those whose Aadhaar is not verified has not been stopped.
