Land For Job Scam: Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has given big relief to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family in the land-for-job scam case. In this case, the court has granted bail to Lalu Prasad Yadav and his sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav. The court has granted bail to all the accused on a bond of Rs 1 lakh.
Bail granted on a bond of Rs 1 lakh
While granting bail to the accused, the court said that the charge sheet has been filed without arresting them. Therefore, the court granted bail to everyone on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. During the hearing, ED told the court that instructions to grant bail to Rabri Devi, Hema Yadav and Misa Yadav can be given as per the earlier order. After this the court directed all the accused to submit their passports to the court. Now the next hearing in this case will be on 25th October.
Rouse Avenue Court has granted bail to all the 9 accused including Lalu, Tejashwi, Tej Pratap on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh each. The statutory procedure of investigation i.e. examination of the charge sheet and related documents before cross-examination on framing of charges will be followed.
ED did not make Tej Pratap Yadav an accused in the charge sheet but the court while issuing summons to Tej Pratap Yadav said that Tej Pratap Yadav is also a member of Lalu Yadav family and his role in money laundering cannot be denied. The court said that a large number of pieces of land and properties have been transferred. Yadav family has misused their position. The plots have been transferred in the name of the Yadav family.
Misa Bharti is also there along with Lalu, Tejashwi, Tej Pratap. But summons has already been issued to Misa Bharti in the ED case and she has got bail. Due to today's summons, Misa Bharti did not need to appear.
This is a conspiracy against us: Tejashwi Yadav
After getting bail from Rouse Avenue Court in the Land for Job case, Tejashwi Yadav said, “This is a case of political vendetta.” There is no merit in this matter, it is a conspiracy against us. We trust the court. He has saved us. Investigating agencies are being misused.
What is the whole matter?
The matter is between 2004 and 2009, when Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister. It is alleged that during his tenure, some people were given jobs on Railway Group D posts ignoring the rules. To get jobs, people sold their lands to the Lalu family at five times the market price. Some of these lands were in the name of Lalu Yadav's family while some were in the name of his close relatives and family members. CBI is investigating the criminal aspect of the case, while ED is probing the money laundering aspect. Both the investigating agencies have tightened the noose on the members of Lalu family.
