Big relief to CM Kejriwal, got bail from the court in this case

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court today in a money laundering case related to the liquor policy scam. The court has accepted the bail application of Kejriwal. CM has got bail from Rouse Avenue Court. The court accepted Kejriwal's bail application and granted him bail on a bond of Rs 15,000. ED had issued eight summons to Kejriwal. Kejriwal did not appear before the agency even once. After this, the investigating agency filed two complaints against Kejriwal in the court.

Earlier on Friday, the court had rejected Kejriwal's plea to stay the magistrate court proceedings in the case of the complaint filed by ED. The magistrate issued summons in the case after he did not appear despite being issued a notice by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

On Friday, Rouse Avenue court special judge Rakesh Sayal passed the order on Kejriwal's plea to stay the proceedings before the magistrate court. Kejriwal had sought exemption from personal appearance before the magistrate court. The Sessions Court said that the Chief Minister of Delhi can file an application for this only in the Magistrate Court.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Divya Malhotra had issued summons to Kejriwal in two separate complaint cases filed by the ED. The first summons was issued to him on 7 February, while the summons on the second complaint was issued on 7 March. Both these cases are being heard in the ACMM court today.
