School Holidays: Haryana Board has released the list of August holidays. Students will get a total of 10 days off including Saturdays and Sundays. The government has also released the list of holidays for the last week of July. According to the notification, there will be a holiday on two Sundays – July 21 and 28, besides Udham Singh Martyrdom Day on July 31. Check the list of school holidays in August in the state:
August 4: Sunday
August 7: Hariyali Teej
August 10: Second Saturday
August 11: Sunday
15 August: Independence Day
16 August: Compensatory holiday declared
August 18: Sunday
August 19: Raksha Bandhan
August 25: Sunday
August 26: Janmashtami
Meanwhile, Karnataka and Kerala have received heavy rains this week. Uttara Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC) Laxmipriya had already declared a holiday for all schools and PU colleges in Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Honnavar, Bhatkal, Sirsi, Siddapur, Yellapur, Dandeli and Joida taluks on Monday, citing a 'red alert' issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
