Red alert has been issued for heavy rains in many areas including Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Malnad districts, interior Karnataka, Castle Rock, Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Honnavar, Bhatkal, Sirsi, Siddapur, Yellapur, Dandeli, Joda taluka of Uttara Kannada. Therefore, schools will remain closed in all these areas for the time being. There is a flood-like situation in many districts of Uttar Pradesh including Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Rae Bareli, Hardoi. Schools are also closed in many districts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
