Driving licence fees: Getting a driving license is going to be a burden on people's pockets soon. Currently, applicants have to spend Rs 1,000 for a permanent license, but after the start of Driving Training Centers (DTC), they will have to spend Rs 6,000. Private training centers are expected to start in October.
For a permanent driving license in Ghaziabad district, applicants have to come to the RTO office and get their biometrics and photograph taken. After this, one has to give a driving test in front of the divisional inspector. After passing this, the license is approved by the office. At the same time, applicants download the driving license (DL) online on their phones from the Sarathi portal. For this process, applicants have to deposit a fee of one thousand rupees online. After the driving training center starts, this process of getting a DL will change completely.
For permanent license, applicants will have to deposit a fee of Rs 6,000 after choosing the option of Driving Training Center (DTC). Out of this, Rs 1,000 will go to the government account, while Rs 5,000 will be the training center fee. The applicant will have to undergo 29 hours of training at the center. After this, there will be a test at the center. Driving license will be issued only after passing it. If you fail in the test, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 200 for the test again.
At present, more than 500 applications are being made for permanent licenses every day. In the neighboring district Gautam Buddha Nagar, the process of making DL from private driving training centers has started.
No change in the process of learning license: After the process of DL starts from private centers, there will be no change in the learning and renewal license. Online application will have to be made for learning and the test can be given on the laptop sitting at home. Similarly, for renewal, biometric and photo will have to be done in the RTO office. Along with this, health fitness will also have to be submitted online and after the test, the license will be issued.
Three DTIs will open
Three driving license training institutes (DTI) are to be opened in the district. Driving training will be given on simulators in the center. Along with this, tests will also be conducted on driving tracks. Training will be given for light motor vehicles (LMV) and medium and heavy vehicles (HMV) in the center. The first driving training center (recognized driving training center) is being built near the metro station in Guldhar. The license of this center has been given to D-Pak ATS Private Limited Company. This center is expected to start functioning in the first week of October.
Ghaziabad ARTO Administration Rahul Srivastava said, “Private driving training centers will start in the first week of October. First of all, efforts are being made to start a center near Guldhar. After this, Dasna center will be started.”
