Mohali: Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains today proposed closure of middle schools during the budget session of the Assembly. Regarding this proposal, the Education Minister said that the student-teacher ratio in middle schools across Punjab is very low. There are many such middle schools in the state which have only 10-12 students. He said that this school should be closed and a school with modern facilities should be built within a radius of 8-10 kilometers so that high quality education can be provided to the students.
He sought support from the House to pass this proposal.
