A serious case of human trafficking has come to light from Alambagh. This shocking truth was exposed after the recovery of a 12-year-old minor child from the house of a businessman in Kanpur. Investigation revealed that Alambagh resident Sunil Malik had bought two minor children for Rs 60 thousand. He sent one of these children to his son-in-law in Kanpur, while the other child was held hostage and made to do inhuman work like cleaning toilets.
Kanpur Police has started efforts to break this smuggling network by raiding Alambagh.
How did the matter come to light?
According to Govindnagar police station in-charge of Kanpur, on Tuesday night, Shri Bhagwan, a resident of Gurugram, called the control room and requested to save his son. He told that some people have taken his son hostage and he is being beaten.
As soon as the information was received, the police raided the house of furniture businessman Ankit Anand in B-Block, Govindnagar. During the raid, the police found an innocent 12 year old child. The child narrated his ordeal to the police, after which the police took Ankit Anand into custody.
Layers of human trafficking revealed during interrogation
During police interrogation, accused Ankit Anand made a big revelation. He told that his father-in-law, Sunil Malik, a resident of Alambagh, had bought two children for Rs 30,000 each from Shri Bhagwan Mahato alias Ramu, a resident of East Champaran district of Bihar, through Gurugram-based broker Pappu Yadav.
- First child: Sunil Malik’s daughter Sakshi brought this child to Kanpur for household work.
- Second child: Sunil Malik kept him at his house and was keeping him hostage and making him clean the toilet.
The police handed over the child to his family and arrested Ankit Anand.
The pain of the innocent child spread as soon as he saw the police
When the police freed the child, he started crying bitterly as soon as he saw the police. He told that his mistress Sakshi used to beat him daily. Three months ago, broker Pappu Yadav tricked his father into getting work and brought him and his cousin to Alambagh and left them there. Since then, both the children were being made to do inhuman work like cleaning toilets and dirt.
FIR registered, action against the accused
Kanpur Police has registered an FIR against Ankit Anand, his wife Sakshi, father-in-law Sunil Malik, and broker Pappu Yadav in this case. All the accused have been charged with serious charges like human trafficking, hostage-taking, and child labour.
Suspected of trafficking of many children
Investigation has revealed that there is an old relationship between Sunil Malik and human smuggler Pappu Yadav. Police suspect that many children have already been trafficked through this network.
Ankit Anand told that a few months ago his wife Sakshi had gone to her maternal home in Alambagh, where she met Pappu Yadav. That’s where this disgusting deal happened. Police say that after the arrest of Sunil Malik the entire network will be exposed.
