Tarn Taran: A case has come to light of a 25-year-old youth playing a match in village Dargapur of Tarn Taran being surrounded and attacked with sharp weapons in front of his father and then shot dead. The seriously injured youth has been admitted to Guru Nanak Dev Super Specialty Hospital in Tarn Taran. The police of Sarhali police station related to the area have registered a case against many people under the Arms Act and other sections and have started further investigation.
Dargapur resident Ajit Singh son of Gajjan Singh told in the complaint given to the police that his 25 year old son Harman Singh works as a carpenter. At around 6 pm, he was playing a match with other boys of the village and he also left his work and went to watch their match. Meanwhile his village
Dahi Akashdeep Singh along with 8-9 unknown people riding in black vehicles came to the village of Thothian Mahant and surrounded his son Harman Singh. The said people opened fire on his son and when he came forward to save him, Adeep Kash Singh opened fire directly on them. A bullet hit his son Harman and he got injured and fell on the ground. After which Akashdeep Singh ran away with his companions. He said that he is not aware of the complaint of this attack because his son Harman Singh is still unconscious. Only when he regains consciousness will he know why Akashdeep Singh shot him. Investigating officer Sub Inspector Savinder Singh said that after recording the statement of Ajit Singh, action has been taken against unknown people including Akashdeep Singh and efforts are being made to arrest the accused.
