Diwali Gift: Oil distribution companies (OMCs) have given a big gift to petrol and diesel pump dealers on Dhanteras. Oil companies have decided to increase the commission of petrol and diesel pump dealers. Companies have increased the commission on petrol by 65 paise per liter and on diesel by 55 paise per liter. The new commission will come into effect from October 30.
Oil companies have said that even after the increase in dealers' commission, there will be no increase in the prices of diesel and petrol. At the same time, Indian Oil has provided the facility of interstate goods transportation. This will reduce the retail price of petrol and diesel in various markets within the states.
Indian Oil is pleased to announce the revision in dealer margin (effective from 30 October 2024) after a long-running litigation. This will not affect the retail selling price of diesel and petrol. This will strengthen the resolve to enhance the welfare of employees working in customer service and retail stores. Indian Oil said that we wish our partners and their teams continued success as they work towards our shared goals and vision.
The oil company also said that our efforts to provide consistently affordable petrol and diesel across the country have been successful, demonstrating the value of Nation First. Indian Oil has undertaken interstate rationalization of cargo transportation. This will reduce the difference in the retail price of the product in different markets of the state. This will not be effective where the code of conduct is in force. Except in those geographical areas where the Model Code of Conduct is in force. Bharat Petroleum also announced increase in dealers commission.
Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has welcomed the decision.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has welcomed the decision of the oil companies. “I announce increase in commission of petrol pump dealers and welcome the decision to rationalize inter-state freight movement for the benefit of customers in the hinterland,” he posted on Twitter. This will reduce the prices of petrol and diesel in many parts of the country. He wrote that it reflects the vision of PM Narendra Modi, which aims to bring civic amenities in remote areas at par with other parts of the country.
He said that after this decision, for example, in Kunanpally and Kalimela of Malkangiri in Odisha, the price of petrol will be reduced by Rs 4.69 and Rs 4.55 respectively and the price of diesel will be reduced by Rs 4.45 and Rs 4.32 respectively. Whereas in Sukma, Chhattisgarh, the price of petrol will be reduced by Rs 2.09 and the price of diesel will be reduced by Rs 2.02.
