Big gift from Modi cabinet: 5 big projects from railways to highways approved, Bihar and these states will directly benefit.

The Central Government has taken an important step towards further strengthening the country’s infrastructure and transportation system. In the meeting of the Union Cabinet held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, five big and important proposals to accelerate the development of the country have been approved. The total estimated cost of all these projects is Rs 13,041 crore. Giving information about these decisions of the Cabinet, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that these projects will not only improve connectivity, but will also bring revolutionary improvements in trade and means of transportation.

Railways and road transport get new momentum

Of these five major projects approved by the Modi Cabinet on Wednesday, four projects are related to the expansion of Indian Railways, while one important project is related to road transport and highways. The main objective of the government is to reduce congestion on the major railway routes of the country and to speed up industrial and passenger transport. The major projects sanctioned are as follows:

  • Quadrangularisation of Howrah-Chennai main road: To make the operation of trains easier and faster on this busy and strategically important main rail corridor of the country, the work of quadrupling of the railway line has been approved.

  • Cuttack to Paradip Rail Line Extension: Third and fourth railway lines will be laid to drastically increase the capacity of freight and passenger train movement on this important route.

  • Other Railway Network Projects: Apart from this, two other multi-tracking rail projects have also been given the green signal to strengthen rail connectivity in different parts of the country.

Bihar got a special gift: Muzaffarpur-Sonbarsa four lane highway

A major decision has been taken in the road transport sector under the fifth project to give wings to the infrastructure and road connectivity of Bihar. Under this project, the Sonbarsa road going from Muzaffarpur in Bihar to Nepal border via Sitamarhi will be converted into a modern four-lane highway. This project is estimated to cost approximately Rs 3,591 crore. The construction of this road will not only ease the traffic between different districts of North Bihar, but will also give a huge boost to trade activities and traffic with Nepal.

The economic development of the country will get strengthened

The government believes that with the implementation of these infrastructure projects, new opportunities for direct and indirect employment will be created in many states of the country. Through better roads and strong rail network, farmers, traders and common citizens will be able to get better facilities in less time. This decision of the Modi government is being considered as another milestone in the direction of overall development of the country and creation of modern infrastructure.
