UP By-Election News: The results of the by-elections held on 13 seats in seven states of the country have increased the worries of BJP, which is worried about not getting the expected results in the Lok Sabha elections. By winning only 2 out of 13 seats, BJP is consoling itself that the ruling party has an upper hand in the by-elections. But in reality, challenges are constantly increasing for BJP in the largest state Uttar Pradesh, where it itself is in power.
By-elections were held on these seats
The MLAs of Phulpur, Khair, Ghaziabad, Majhawan, Mirapur, Milkipur, Karahal, Katehari and Kundarki of Uttar Pradesh became MPs by winning the Lok Sabha elections this time, by-elections were held on these nine vacant seats. Due to the termination of membership of SP MLA Irfan Solanki from Sisamau, by-elections were held on this seat too.
SP's good performance in Lok Sabha
By-elections have not been announced on these seats yet. But the main opposition party SP has started preparing for it. BJP is also making strategies for victory. SP is confident about the by-elections after performing as expected in the Lok Sabha elections. But maintaining optimal performance can also be a challenge.
BJP strategists are worried
Through this by-election, BJP has a chance to break the notion of Lok Sabha and increase the enthusiasm of the workers. However, the equation of these seats has become a matter of concern for the strategists of BJP. In which SP is likely to dominate the five seats that have become vacant. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav was an MLA from Karhal seat of Manpuri. This seat is considered to be the stronghold of SP. Ziaur Rahman Bark was an MLA from Kundarki seat of Moradabad. Now that he is an MP, it is difficult to remove SP from the Muslim dominated seat.
There is trouble for SP here.
In 1991 itself, BJP won from Ambedkar Nagar Katheri seat. BSP has won here five times and SP twice. The strong leader of the area and two-time winner Lalji Verma has now won the Lok Sabha elections on SP ticket. BJP will have to work hard to capitalize on its influence here. Everyone's eyes will be on Milkipur assembly seat which comes under Faizabad Lok Sabha seat.
BJP needs to show its strength here
BJP will have to show its strength on this seat of Awadhesh Prasad, who defeated BJP on the soil of Ayodhya. Talking about the Sesama seat of Kanpur, SP's Irfan Solanki was MLA here three times. The margin of victory of SP also increased in 2022 as compared to 2017. This seat also has the highest Muslim population.
Challenge to save five seats
The possibility of BJP getting additional seats here now seems limited, but it definitely faces the challenge of saving its five stronghold seats. In this, the fight will be a little easier for BJP on the Phulpur seat of Prayagraj, Khair seat of Aligarh and Ghaziabad seat. But the Meerapur seat of Muzaffarnagar is not so easy.
Equation of BJP and Nishad Party
Last time when Chandan Chauhan of RLD won from this seat, there was an alliance of RLD-SP. Sapno also has a good hold on this seat. BJP also lost Muzaffarnagar seat in the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, this is a challenge. Similarly, Nishad Party also won the Majhawan seat of Mirzapur. Here BJP and Nishad Party will have to make social equations.
By-elections are important for assembly elections
BJP's state official says that there is still time for the elections. The party has a chance to correct the caste equation through the elections. Also, the time has come to bring back the disgruntled and inactive workers together. However, he believes that even if the results of these meetings do not affect the health of the Yogi government, it will definitely help in preparing the ground for the upcoming assembly elections.
