Big fall in stock market, Sensex fell 422 points

The trend of decline in the Indian stock market is showing no sign of stopping. There was a huge fall in the Indian market in the trading session of Thursday, 21 November 2024. At the end of the day, the stock market closed in the red at 3.30. At 3.30 pm, the Sensex closed at 77,155 points, down 422.59 points. While Nifty closed 171.85 points down at 23,346 points.

BSE market cap fell to Rs. Rs 425.29 lakh crore. After reaching an all-time high of Rs 478 lakh crore. There has been a decrease of Rs 49 lakh crore. Today trading closed in 4065 shares on BSE, out of which 1237 shares closed with gains and 2736 shares closed with decline.

Nifty Sectoral Index

If we look at the sectoral index of Nifty, then Nifty IT, Private Bank and Realty shares had the biggest rise and all the other sectoral indices closed with a decline. Among the declining sectors, the biggest weakness was seen in PSU banks (2.70 per cent) and media shares (2.40 per cent).

Among the gainers, UltraTech Cement, HCL Tech, Tata Steel, TCS, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, Tech Mahindra and ICICI Bank were the top gainers. Among the falling Sensex stocks, Adani Ports, SBI, ITC, NTPC, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank and Bajaj Finserv are the top losers.
