Big decision of Central Government, two nuclear submarines will be ready in India at a cost of Rs 40000 crore.

Indian Navy: The CCS of the Government of India, i.e. the Cabinet Committee on Security headed by the Prime Minister, has given permission for the construction of two indigenous nuclear submarines. This will increase the strategic and offensive power of the Indian Navy. The construction of these submarines will increase the naval strength in the Indian Ocean region and the South China Sea.

The submarine will be constructed at the shipbuilding center in Visakhapatnam. Help of private companies like Larsen and Toubro can also be taken in making it. The submarine will be 95 percent indigenous. This submarine will be different from the Arihant class. These will be built under Project Advanced Technology Vessel.

Two more submarines are to be built, four more can be built. India has recently launched its second SSBN i.e. nuclear submarine INS Arihant. Within the next year, the Indian Navy will have many different types of warships and submarines.

Which warships will be involved?

These 12 warships also include frigates, corvettes, destroyers, submarines and survey ships. This involvement of the Navy will increase the level of security in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).

INS Visakhapatnam

The Visakhapatnam class consists of four frigates. Visakhapatnam is the lead warship of its class. Who will join the Navy in December this year. It is undergoing some upgrades. In December this year, INS Surat was also included in this category.

Destroyers of this class have 32 Barak 8 missiles, 16 BrahMos anti-ship missiles, 4 torpedo tubes, 2 anti-submarine rocket launchers, 7 types of guns. Dhruv and Sea King helicopters are deployed. These are such warships. Due to which BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles are being continuously tested.

INS Waghshir

This is a diesel-electric attack submarine of the Kalvari class i.e. Scorpene class. The submarine will be deployed in December this year. It specializes in anti-surface, anti-submarine warfare. INS Waghshir can perform many missions. Such as anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, intelligence gathering, sea tunneling, area surveillance etc. The submarine is designed to function in all conditions during operations.

Its length is approximately 221 feet, beam 20 feet and height 40 feet. Its speed on the water surface is 20 kilometers per hour. Under water it moves at a speed of 37 km per hour. It can stay under water for 50 days. Can go to a maximum depth of 350 feet. It can accommodate 8 military officers and 35 sailors.

It has an anti-torpedo countermeasures system. In addition there are 6 533 mm torpedo tubes, which can launch 18 SUT torpedoes or SM.39 Exocet anti-ship missiles. Apart from this, 30 sea mines can be laid under this water.

INS Researcher

He will join the Navy in June next year. It is a Sandhya class survey ship. With its help, the Navy can carry out any kind of research and survey missions below and above the sea.

This is also a Sandhyak class survey vessel. It has been included in August this year itself. It has advanced hydrographic detection capabilities. Besides, this will also help in naval operations and safe navigation of the Navy.

INS Arnala

It will be received from the Navy in November this year. Its displacement will be 900 tons. It is approximately 255 feet long. The beam is 34 feet high. It will run at a maximum speed of 46 km/hour. Its range is 3300 kilometers. This warship can accommodate 57 sailors including 7 officers.

It features ASW combat suits, which will equip weapons to counter enemy attacks. Will keep an eye on this. It has 4 types of management systems which will help in keeping the warship safe in war. RBU-6000 anti-submarine rocket launcher will be installed. It is a 213 mm anti-submarine rocket system, which fires rockets at enemy submarines.

Apart from this, it is equipped with 6 light ASW torpedoes. There will also be anti-submarine sea mines. INS Arnala will have one 30 mm CRN-91 naval gun. It is an automatic gun, which can fire 550 rounds per minute, which means the enemy ship will be destroyed. Its range is 4 kilometers. Apart from this, 2 OFT 12.7 mm M2 stabilized remote controlled guns will be installed. This will be the largest warship of the Indian Navy which will be equipped with water jet propulsion powered system.

INS Mahe

This ASW-SWC Corvette is scheduled to arrive in August next year. This is a minesweeper. Apart from this everything will be same as Arnala.

INS Tamala

This is a Talwar class warship. It will be inducted into the Navy in February 2025. The sea displacement of these warships is 3850 tons. Length is 409.5 ft, beam 49.10 ft and draft 13.9 ft. The maximum speed of this warship at sea is 59 km/hour.

This warship can carry 180 soldiers including 18 officers and can stay at sea for 30 days. This warship is equipped with electronic warfare system. Besides, 4 KT-216 decoy launchers have also been installed. Apart from this it has 24 Shtil-1 medium range missiles.

8 Igla-1E, 8 vertical launch anti-ship missile launchers, 8 vertical launch anti-ship and land attack BrahMos missiles are also deployed. It has one 100 mm A-190E naval gun. Apart from this, 76 mm Auto Melara naval gun is installed. 2 AK-630 CIWS and 2 Kashtan CIWS guns are fitted.

Apart from these dangerous guns, two 533 mm torpedo tubes and a rocket launcher have also been deployed. The warship can be equipped with a Kamov-28 or a Kamov-31 or Dhruv helicopter. One such is INS Tusheel. It will meet the Navy in September this year.

INS Nilgiri

This warship will be handed over to the army in December this year. Its next warships IAS Udayagiri will be commissioned in March next year, INS Himgiri in August. The Nilgiri class frigates are actually guided missile frigates. They are being built by Mazagon Dock and Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers. Under which seven warships are being built.

Five of these have already been launched and will be inducted into the Indian Navy by 2025. The displacement of these warships is 6670 tons. It has 32 Barak-8 missiles, 8 BrahMos missiles, 2 Varunastra torpedo launchers, 2 anti-submarine rocket launchers, three guns. Apart from this, pole and seeking helicopters can be deployed on it. Four shielded decoy launchers are fitted. 2 Torpedo Countermeasures Systems fitted.
