ICC Test Rankings 2024: There has been a big change in the ICC (International Cricket Council) Test rankings. In the ICC rankings released on Wednesday (August 28), Babar Azam has now dropped six places to ninth position. Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal have seen a jump in their rankings.

The reason for Babar Azam's defeat was the recent Test match played in Rawalpindi. In this Test match, Babar scored 0 runs in the first innings and 22 runs in the second innings. Pakistan lost this Test match by 10 wickets.

Virat Kohli is at eighth position in the ranking

While Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal have made huge profits without playing a single Test match. In the latest ICC rankings, Virat Kohli has now moved up two places to the eighth position. While Yashasvi Jaiswal is at the seventh position. Joe Root is the number one batsman in this format with 881 rating points. Harry Brook has moved up three places to the fourth position. After scoring a century in the Rawalpindi Test match, Mohammad Rizwan jumped seven places to the 10th position. Pakistan's vice-captain Saeed Shakeel has moved up one place to the 13th position thanks to his century against Bangladesh.

There was a jump in the performance of these players

Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has achieved a career-high ranking, moving up seven places to 17th, followed by Sri Lanka's Dinesh Chandimal (up four places to 23rd) and Kamindu Mendis (New England international Jamie Smith has moved up 22 places to 42nd).

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin remains at the top of the Test bowlers' rankings. Spinner Prabhat Jayasuriya took five wickets against England in Manchester and reached the ninth position. England fast bowler Chris Woakes (16th) and Sri Lanka's Asitha Fernando (up 10 places to 17th) while Pakistan's right-arm bowler Naseem Shah is at 33rd position.

Chris Woakes has moved up one place to eighth in the list of Test all-rounders, while Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja tops the list.
