Madhya Pradesh athletes fail doping test: A shocking report has come out for India amid preparations for the grand event of Paris Paralympics 2024 from 28 August to 8 September in Paris, France. Paris Paralympics is organized especially for disabled athletes. Players with different types of disabilities participate in it. However, India has suffered a major setback even before the Paris Paralympics began.
National Anti-Doping Agency Report
The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has released a report stating that three nominated athletes from Madhya Pradesh who qualified for the Paris Paralympics have failed the dope test. The athletes who failed the dope test included para-canoe player Rajni Jha, academy star athlete Shalini and another para-canoe player Gajendra Singh. The NADA report has revealed the case of doping of these players.
3 athletes from Madhya Pradesh failed dope test
22-year-old Shalini, who failed the dope test, won the gold medal in the discus throw event at the National Games held in Ranchi. She is originally from Uttar Pradesh. Shalini was found positive for metandienone metabolite. It is a banned substance by the World Anti-Doping Agency. While 34-year-old Rajni Jha, who qualified for the Paris Paralympics, and Gajendra Singh, bronze medalist in the para canoe event at the Asian Games, are also among them. Rajni was tested positive for methyl testosterone metabolites. While Gajendra Singh was tested positive for norandrosterone. Both of these are also banned substances.
