Big blow to Google's users, payment app GPay will be closed from June 4

Tech company Google has announced the closure of its payment app GPay, used for online money transactions. Google's payment app will shut down in the US on June 4, 2024. The company has decided to promote the Google Wallet app launched in the year 2022. Indian users of GPay do not need to worry about this, because it has been launched only in America. After June 4, this app will work only in India and Singapore. GPay's standalone app will not be available in other countries.

According to the company's blog post, all users will be transferred to Google Wallet. The standalone Google Pay app will become useless in the US from June 4. Users will be able to use popular features like in-store tap-to-pay and payment method management in Google Wallet. Google Wallet is used 5 times more than Google Pay in the US.

It has been told in the blog that after the closure of Google Pay app, American users will not be able to send or receive money to other people through the app. The company has advised American users to shift to Google Wallet app. Google says that it will keep giving updates to the users there from time to time. Users will be able to transfer their GPay balance to their account even after June 4, 2024. For this, users will have to use the website.
