Big announcement of not holding concerts in India

Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh is making waves across the world with his ‘Dil Luminati’ tour. He has successfully performed concerts in big countries like Canada, America, Australia, England, Italy and New Zealand. Currently, the India edition of this tour is going on, which started from Delhi on October 28. After this he performed in cities like Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata and Bengaluru.

Recently, during the concert held in Chandigarh on 15th December, Diljit made an announcement which surprised his fans.

Announcement of not holding concerts in India

Diljit Dosanjh announced at the concert in Sector 34, Chandigarh that he would not hold any more concerts until the infrastructure for concerts in India was improved.

Reason for this decision

Diljit said during the concert that India does not have proper infrastructure for live shows. He told that live shows are a big revenue generating sector and it provides employment to many people.

In the video that went viral on Instagram, Diljit said:

“I want to tell the designated officers that India does not have proper infrastructure for live shows. It is a space that generates huge amounts of revenue and employs many people. Please focus on this.”

Comment on stage setup

He further said that they are planning a better stage setup, where the audience can sit all around. But unless the infrastructure in India improves, they will not perform here. Diljit also said that the organizers and officials should focus on improving the infrastructure instead of harassing the artistes.

Warning and advisory in Hyderabad

There has been controversy in the past regarding Diljit’s concerts. The Child Rights Protection Commission of Hyderabad had issued an advisory to Diljit. In this he was asked not to use such words in his songs which promote intoxication.

Following this advisory, Diljit had removed the controversial lyrics from his songs. Despite this, during the Chandigarh concert the words of one of his songs were again objected to and his team was warned.

After working in Hindi films, Diljit Dosanjh’s popularity has increased significantly in India. His music concerts are getting tremendous response across the country. During the ‘Dil Luminati’ tour, huge crowds gathered at every show.

Diljit Dosanjh believes that proper infrastructure is necessary to make music concerts successful in India. He requested the authorities to provide better facilities for musical programmes.
