Money Laundering Case: ED has arrested IAS officer Sanjeev Hans and former MLA Gulab Yadav. According to the information, the ED team has arrested Sanjeev Hans from his official residence in Patna, while Gulab Yadav has been arrested from a resort in Delhi. Sanjeev Hans is a 1997 batch IAS officer.
According to ED, Sanjeev Hans has purchased benami property worth crores in Mohali and Kasoli of Punjab. He has been arrested by ED in the case of acquiring property worth crores. Gulab Yadav, arrested along with Sanjeev Hans, is his close associate in Delhi.
ED has shared this information with Bihar Special Vigilance Unit (SVU). According to him, the case was registered on September 14. A team of SVU officers is examining the information provided by the central investigating agencies. According to the report, a senior officer said that 'about 14 people including Hans, Yadav and their family members have been made accused in the FIR. SVU is also seeking his custody for thorough questioning. Following the ED raid against Hans, he was transferred to the General Administration Department of the state government in August.
Raids have already taken place
Earlier, the agency had conducted raids at several places in Bihar, Delhi and Pune during a money laundering investigation against Bihar cadre IAS officer Sanjeev Hans and former RJD MLA Gulab Yadav.
Hans-Yadav have been accused of rape
Sanjeev Hans has a long association with controversies. Recently, senior IAS officer Sanjeev Hans has also been accused of rape. Along with Sanjeev Hans, former RJD MLA Gulab Yadav was accused of rape by a woman.
Who is Gulab Yadav?
Gulab Yadav, former MLA from Janjarpur seat of Madhubani, was earlier in Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He did not get a ticket from RJD during the recently held 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Zanzarpur seat went to the alliance partner Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Meanwhile, Gulab Yadav contested the elections on BSP ticket. However, he could not get success in the electoral field. Gulab Yadav is considered a strong player in politics. When his wife Ambika Gulab Yadav did not get support, he made himself MLC from the local area. Ambika Yadav defeated BJP candidate. Apart from this, Gulab Yadav's daughter Bindu is the president of Gulab Yadav District Council.
