Big action by CBI in bribery racket from patients, nine people including two doctors arrested

corruption case : A big racket has been exposed in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital of Delhi. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested nine people, including two doctors, for taking bribes from patients. Corrupt doctors and middlemen were extorting money in the name of providing quick treatment and better facilities to the patients.

What was the method of bribery?

Five methods of corruption were going on in the so-called Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi's largest, which included admitting patients by taking bribes and issuing fake medical certificates. CBI had received information that Dr. Parvat Gowda of the cardiology department of the hospital and another doctor Ajay Raj were openly demanding bribe. It has also been alleged that all these bribers were collecting money from the patients directly and indirectly through the representatives of the companies supplying essential equipment to the hospital.

CBI arrested these people

The two doctors arrested by the CBI include Dr. Parvat Gowda, assistant professor in the department of cardiology, and Dr. Ajay Raj, another from the same department. Apart from this, CBI has registered a case against senior technical in-charge of the hospital Rajneesh Kumar, clerks Bhuwal Jaiswal and Sanjay Kumar, nurses Shalu Sharma, Naresh Nagpal, Bharatsingh Dalal, Abrar Ahmed, officers Gulati, Monica Sinha and other accused.
