A major action was taken against illegal sand mining in Madhya Pradesh. Under this, the ADM court has imposed a fine of Rs 1 billion 37 crores. This action has been taken in four cases of illegal sand mining. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to seize two Pokelands and one JCB worth Rs 1 crore 25 lakh.
According to the instructions of Betul Court, if this amount is not deposited within seven days, then this amount will be recovered by confiscating the movable property of the sand mafia. In this action, a case has been registered by the Mineral Department against Ankur Rathore, Arshad Qureshi, Sabu, Mahinder Dhakad, Deepesh Patel, Ravinder Chauhan and Mohammad Ilyas.
It is noteworthy that action was taken against illegal sand mining by Collector and District Magistrate Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi on the night of 14 and 15 May 2024. ADM Rajiv Nandan Srivastava has ordered the recovery of Rs 1 billion 38 crore 21 lakh against seven people in four cases. If they do not deposit the amount within seven days, the remaining amount will be recovered by confiscating the movable property of the sand mafia.
A case has been registered against Ankur alias Rinku Rathore and Arshad Qureshi, both residents of Shahpur, one village Gurgunda and two Dandupura. In these, instructions have been given to excavate 70808 cubic meters of sand at a cost of Rs 60 lakh in Gurgunda and Pokland Rajsat at a cost of Rs 53 crore 10 lakh 60 thousand. In village Dendupura, instructions have been given to excavate 110610 cubic meters of sand worth Rs 82 crore 95 lakh 75 thousand and JCB Rajsat worth Rs 25 lakh. In the second and third cases, Ankur alias Rinku Rathod, Arshad Qureshi and Sabu residents of Dendupura were booked for excavating 700 cubic metres of sand worth Rs 52 lakh 50 thousand, in the fourth case, Mahendra Dhakad resident of D. Bhopal, Dipesh Patel and Ravinder Chauhan of Mandvi and Mohd Ilyas of Sarani were booked for mining sand worth Rs 18 lakh 90 thousand and Pokeland Rajsat worth Rs 40 lakh.
Regarding the action taken in this entire illegal sand mining case, Betul Collector Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi said that the administration, mineral department and police have taken action against sand mafias. A fine of Rs 1 billion 37 crores has been imposed against 6 sand mafias in this case and immovable property worth Rs 1 crore 25 lakhs will be confiscated from a JCB.
