Biden's 'U-turn' on Gaza war presents alternative draft to UNSC for short ceasefire

UNO: In the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the US presented an alternative draft for a ceasefire in Gaza and also opposed Israel's attack in the Rafah area.

Taking a sudden U-turn from its traditional stand, America has used the word ceasefire. He was reluctant to use the word at first. But in this draft the Biden administration has clearly mentioned the ceasefire.

In addition to an immediate ceasefire, Hamas has been requested to release its detainees, and all countries, especially friendly nations, have been requested to remove all barriers to the Gaza Strip and send massive humanitarian aid.

Along with this, America said that it does not want to rush to vote on this draft. He insists on making time for conversation. A senior American official said this.

The official further said that the draft also targets civilian injury and forced displacement. It was also said that citizens are also going to neighboring countries. If there is a massive attack on Rafat, it will not affect the surrounding countries as well. Therefore the peace and security of that area will be in danger. Therefore, in these circumstances, ground attack on Rafah should not be carried out.

It is well known that the US has historically consistently defended Israel from actions at the UN. But this resolution is different from its historical trend. In this regard, Richard Golan, Director of UNO's International Crisis Group, said that the presentation of this draft is only a warning to Israel, Israel should understand that the diplomatic support given by America will not last forever.

It is noteworthy that protests are taking place all over the world and even in America itself against such a huge attack on Israel and thousands of people are taking to the streets with placards demanding a ceasefire.
