Araria 19 August (HS). On Monday, the Bhumihar Mahila Samaj organized a Sawan festival in the Usha sewing school campus in Forbesganj. A large number of women from the Bhumihar community participated in it and displayed their skills in the organized competitions. It was highly appreciated by the people present.
On this occasion, women applied attractive mehndi with their husband's name on their wrists. Women proved their talent by their performance in different types of competitions organized along with songs and music. Different groups of women participated in pairs in Antakshari, Wheel Round Chair, Quiz etc. and enjoyed together. On this occasion, a discussion was organized on women's upliftment and self-reliance among the women present from Bhumihar community. In which social issues including women becoming self-reliant were discussed.
Savita Thakur, Director of Usha Sewing Centre, while strongly presenting her views on education, unity and self-reliance, emphasized on collective cooperation in the marriages of the poor and helpless daughters of the society and staying united with positive efforts in resolving the problems. On which the women present agreed for their participation.
R. Sinha, Bulbul Singh, Gunjan Singh, Rupam Singh, Mamta Singh, Palpal Singh, Nishu Singh, Rimjim Singh, Sheenu Singh, Anjali Singh etc. were present in the organized Saawan Mahotsav program.
