Dhanbad, 22 April (Hindustan Reporter). Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha supremo Saryu Rai said that his party will contest from Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat. He said that the party will announce the name of its party candidate within the next 24 hours. Saryu Rai said that he has not supported Congress candidate Anupama Singh. Rai said that Anupama Singh had definitely come to meet him, but she had given personal blessings which are given to a daughter and daughter-in-law. Saryu Rai was addressing the press conference on Monday.
During this period, Saryu Rai fiercely attacked the BJP government at the Centre. He said that according to the affidavit given by the State General Secretary of BJP in the Election Commission, 19 cases are still pending against BJP candidate Dhullu Mahato and he has been convicted in only two cases. Whereas in the year 2022, the SSP of Dhanbad had filed a report in the Jharkhand High Court, according to which more cases are pending against BJP candidate Dhulu Mahato. Also, he has been convicted in four cases. He said that among the pending cases, cases under many serious sections are also registered, in which the punishment can be from 5 to 10 years.
If sources are to be believed, Saryu Rai himself can contest elections from Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat. He is currently the MLA from Jamshedpur West seat. He won this seat by defeating the then Chief Minister Raghuvar Das. If Saryu Rai contests from Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat then there could be trouble for both BJP and Congress. Saryu Rai has been seen attacking BJP candidate Dhullu Mahato in recent times.
